Deck/Stew 36m Private MY – Sydney, Whitsundays, Fiji

Are you an entrance level stewardess or deckhand looking for a blended position?

Are you looking to learn under the direction of an experienced chief stewardess & 1st mate?

A well run private MY is on the search for an up and comer who can work in a blended position across the interior and deck departments

The yacht is privately run but undertakes numerous corporate style, high volume cruises around the November/December period.

While the yacht maintains a permanent berth in Sydney the vessel does travel in the winter times, either Whitsundays or the Fijian Islands. (TBD)

The Deck/Stew will assist the Mate with everything in the exterior including washdowns, detailing, lines, fenders, tender driving, launch/retrieval and anchoring.

During cruises the deck/stew will also assist with food and drink service in the interior working under the direction of a very experienced chief stewardess.

This is an excellent opportunity for a junior who has completed their yacht courses, has some strong hospitality or customer service experience perhaps coupled with some day work or a season experience on yachts.

The ideal candidate will above all show a keen eagerness to learn and must be highly motivated and committed

As the yacht does maintain a permanent berth in Sydney, candidates located in Sydney will be highly considered

• STCW
• Sea farer medical (or willing to obtain)
• NSW Recreational tender licence (or willing to obtain)
• Hospitality/customer service back ground
• Some yacht experience (daywork or seasonal)
• Some deckhand experience either recreationally or professionally
• Very confident around the water
• Good with small children
• Full work rights for Australia or NZ
• Preference for Sydney candidates (Flexible)

Start Date- Early November 2018

Salary- $45,000-$48,000 AUD / year + Super  DOE
