A prestigious 44m Private MY is on the search for a 1st mate available for a 3-month contract to relieve the current 1st mate as he takes leave

The yacht is currently cruising the British Colombia region and has plans to head south for California.

There is an excellent crew dynamic onboard this yacht and the ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic team player who thoroughly enjoys yachting and making the most of the areas which the yacht visits.

The owner enjoys a relaxed atmosphere onboard the yacht, with guest activities including fishing, diving and general exploring/shore trips.

The Ideal Candidate

  • 200 tonnes minimum with some OOW underway or holding
  • B1/B2 visa and ENG 1
  • Previous Mate experience on vessels of similar size
  • Will offer a firm commitment for 3 months
  • Good bridge and OOW experience
  • Relaxed but professional management style
  • Some fishing or diving experience (not essential)
  • Enjoys being a part of an active and young crew

Start: July (but available for phone/skype interview immediately)

Term: 3-month contract, July to September

Salary: $6000 US  US / month DOE + flights

This is a terrific opportunity for an enjoyable 3-month contract before the start of the Caribbean season  

Work Experience Requirements:

All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Yacht.

Language Requirements:

Good knowledge of the English language is required.
