Looking for a terrific Chief Officer position on a worldwide cruising yacht?

Do you enjoy Diving & Fishing and keen to cruise the South Island NZ over summer?

A prestigious private 50m MY is on the search for an experienced Chief Officer to join their program.

The yacht has a crew size of 13 with a good mixture of nationalities on board.

The yacht typically has a busy cruising schedule and tends get off the beaten track, 2nd trip to the Australia/Pacific region in as many years

The yacht also spends allot of time diving and fishing around central America and the Caribbean.

The yacht will cruise the Australian east Coast before heading to NZ for some South Island cruising.

The ideal candidate above all with have the right attitude and good team leadership ability

Looking for a leader, not a commander, who is hands on and wants to meet and exceed standards on the yacht.

The successful candidate will

• MCA Chief Mate 3000gt CoC or recognized equivalent,
• ENG1 seaman’s medical or National equivalent
• Good level of maturity, possibly other life skills (trade) or who is doing Master’s modules
• diving would also be a bonus but at present not essential
• Good understanding of ISM
• Enjoys leading but can also be hands on, leading by example

The Package

• one month paid vacation with return airfare to “home of record”
• yacht’s insurance whilst on board or on ship’s business and after 6 months goes 50% co-pay on any personal medical insurance carried.
• signed up for Medjet Assist re medical evac
• after one year eligible to be part of the non-contributory retirement scheme
• salary is of course negotiable with skills and experience but in ball park of around $7500 US / month
