Deck/2nd Engineer 47m Private Motor Yacht- Sydney Based

A prestigious 47m private motor yacht is on the search for a deckhand/engineer assist to join their team of 9.

The yacht is run to the highest standard and operates a full ISM compliancy.

Cruises consist predominantly in and around Sydney Harbour with the possibility of the occasional trip further afield.

Whilst at sea with the guests the role is purely a deck position including the usual tender driving, exterior detailing and bridge watches. When in the yard or at the dock the role will be predominantly 2nd engineer responsibilities assisting the chief engineer with various projects.

There is a 5 day working week + watches and candidates must be comfortable working weekends.

The successful applicant will be looking to contribute in maintaining the terrific team environment on board and will offer a firm commitment to the yachts program.

The ideal candidate will have:

• STCW, ENG 1
• Power Boat level 2/ coxswains or above
• 1-2 seasons experience on deck.
• Good Tender driving skills
• Some engineer experience or a solid enthusiasm to learn
• Hold an AEC or MED 3 would be preferable but not essential
• Impeccable interpersonal & communication skills
• High level of discretion
• Full work rights for Australia/NZ

As the yacht is permanently berthed in Sydney it will be a requirement that the crew have their own accommodation in Sydney.

While not a necessity, the yacht will also highly consider any applicants with extensive 1st aid training or from a medical/1st response background.

Salary: Above industry standard, paid in Australian Dollars + Super

Annual Leave: Standard Australian annual leave
