Live In House Steward/Houseman/Butler-Central London-Own Flat-to £40,000 gross per annum

This is a fabulous job for a House Steward/Butler/Houseman to work for an informal British family with a lovely home in Primrose Hill.

The family are professionals and it is mostly the gentleman who spends the majority of his time at their London home. His partner and children spend most of their time at their country home but do spend part of the week in London also.

This is a role for someone who is enthusiastic, active, well presented, and who understands that the role of a modern Butler/Houseman can need someone who cover many subjects!

The role will include acting as house manager and deal with suppliers and contractors where necessary, look after the house security and AV systems, meet and greet guests and serve meals - if you can mix a cocktail and look after a wine cellar all the better, act as a chauffeur around London when needed, help organise parties and events, do the household shopping and dry cleaning, sort out the recycling, some wardrobe management, and anything else that comes up that is needed to keep the house running smoothly. You will also be asked to make simple food if needed, and they would be happy for you to learn this.

It is essential that you have worked as a Butler/Houseman for at least three years, or they will consider someone who has run a chalet or worked on a yacht in a similar role. You will need to speak and write good English, have lots of energy, be able to organise your own work and your own day and not need a lot of supervision.

This is a live in job, mostly working Monday to Friday as they are in the country at weekends but some flexibility will be needed. Your accommodation will be your own self contained flat (sorry no partners or children). Salary will be in the range of £25,000 to £40,000 gross per annum depending on experience.  Please note that we can only accept applications from candidates who already have a working visa that permits them to work in the UK, or a British Passport.
