Chief Officer / Mate- Sydney Based Private Motor Yacht

An exciting opportunity has opened up for an exceptional chief officer to join an iconic Sydney based yacht.

The yacht operates an entirely Sydney based program and would suit an experienced Australian or New Zealand CO wishing for a position that offers life balance between time ashore and time spent at sea

The yacht is run to the highest standard, operates a mini ISM and while being under 50m in length incorporates big boat practices.

Based in the heart of the city, the yacht undertakes a purely Sydney harbour and Pittwater cruising schedule.

Typically a Monday – Friday working week (when no guests on board) with the crew being responsible for their own accommodation off the yacht.

There is an excellent crew dynamic with crew longevity on-board this vessel and the successful candidate will be a hardworking and trustworthy team player with a high level of professionalism and self-motivation.

The Ideal Candidate

• Mate or chief officer experience on vessels 40m +
• Flexible on ticket (will accept applicants holding a 200 tonnes to OOW to 3000 tonnes) AMSA or MCA
• Have full work rights for Australia or New Zealand essential
• Experience running and leading a small team
• Bridge management experience
• ISM experience
• Will lead by example in all deck operations (tender driving, anchoring, docking, crane operation, bridge watch)
• Available for weekend work
• Home base in Sydney or looking to relocate to Sydney
• Some drive time on 40m+ MY would be advantageous (not essential)
• Ideally available to join at short notice

Salary- $120,000 AUD TRP, negotiable for the right candidate

Start Date- ASAP (flexible)
