Join a brilliant Superyacht management team in Sydney who keep their clients’ yachts in peak condition and ready for owner’s use!
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced superyacht Chief Stewardess/Purser who wishes to come ashore permanently and work in Sydney.
It is a senior management position working with the Australian Superyachts’ team, all of whom are experienced yachting professionals.
The role is a permanent position based in our offices at Jones Bay Wharf, Pyrmont and aboard a variety of Superyachts berthed in various marinas throughout Sydney Harbour. You will live ashore.
We are looking for an experienced Superyacht Chief Stewardess/Purser with at least 3 years’ experience in the yachting industry who is extremely well presented and articulate and a highly organised team player! This is a great opportunity for someone who wants the best of both worlds! Have a life AND a yacht job too!
You will be in charge of the interior organisation of the Sydney-based superyachts under management – varying in size from 25 m to 40-m, both motor and sail. Your role will involve the co-ordination of guest trips and charters, allocation of crew, managing the purchasing of interior supplies, uniforms, provisioning for trips, wine inventories and all other details required by the owners of charterers.
You will work with the Yacht Management team and also manage day-worker stewardesses as required to ensure that each of the vessels’ interiors are always immaculately clean and well-organised.
Note that some weekend work may be required.
You will have excellent service skills and be able to manage and mentor junior crew who you will have on from time to time. You will need to be decisive and able to train and up-skill your team as necessary. You will have access to a great deal of assistance in this regard – if needed.
Qualifications:
- STCW/2010 Basic Safety Training + current Medical Certificate
- Food Hygiene and Safety Certification – supervisor level
- Formal Stewardess training is a big plus
- Solid experience on Superyachts – international experience would be highly regarded.
Position Requirements:
- Having your own transport is essential as the yachts are at different marinas.
- Proven experience, excellent social skills and bubbly personality
- Well-presented and well-spoken with professional demeanour
- Team player, “hands on” person
- Computer administration skills, Microsoft Office software
- Solid prior experienced as a Senior Stew. *Chief Stew / Purser experience would be highly regarded.
- Non-smokers only – No visible tattoos or piercings.
Nationality: Australian, NZ or anyone with permanent residency for Australia, however if you have a long-term Working Holiday Visa you may be considered. This role is Australian working conditions. ABN holders preferred.
Salary: to be negotiated pending experience.
Start date: Immediate
Work Experience Requirements:
All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Yacht.
Language Requirements:
Good knowledge of the English language is required.
Certificates and Qualifications:
All applicants must hold a valid ENG1 certificate to be able to apply for this position.
A valid STCW Basic Safety Training certificate is required from all applicants. Please sign up for an STCW course and obtain the certificate if you don't have it yet.
