Hill Robinson, the leading independent yacht management company, with offices in Antibes, London and Florida is looking for a Yacht Accountant to join the team in their Fort Lauderdale office. A responsibility in this position includes all financial functions for fleet yachts within a fast-growing, fast -paced company.
Likely candidates will have appropriate experience, knowledge and understanding of the yachting industry. Excellent communications required to liaise confidently and professionally with colleagues, clients, captains and crew. Experience in a similar role would be ideal.

Main responsibilities:
- Maintain and prepare daily payments via check and wire transfer.
- Prepare, discuss and produce budgets when required (reviewed on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis).
- Keep accurate record of yacht refit budgets vs. actual (project management).
- Monthly payroll and payment of payroll liabilities/taxes.
- Preparation and reporting of monthly financials.
- Reconciliation of credit/debit card accounts and accurate monitoring of current balances.
- Preparation of funding requests to yacht owner companies.
- Statutory declarations as required, i.e. VAT quarterly reporting as required; quarterly payroll tax reporting.
- General filing and ad hoc meetings/duties.
Qualifications & Experience:
Accounting qualifications are preferred, traditional accounting experience is crucial in order to hit the ground running. The minimum requirement is 3 years working as book-keeper/ accountant performing the following functions:
- processing general ledger transactions – sales, expenses, debtors, creditors and cash, including multi-currency bank reconciliations.
- the production of annual budgets, variance analysis and comparisons to actual results.
- preparation of monthly financial accounts, review and analysis compared to budget.
Skilled in Excel at intermediate to advanced level is essential.
Knowledge of Quicken and/or QuickBooks is preferred.
Above average IT skills required, MS Office Suite & Outlook. English is the base language, French and other languages a plus.
Work Experience Requirements:
All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Yacht or a Cruise Ship.
Language Requirements:
Good knowledge of the English language is required.
Certificates and Qualifications:
A valid STCW Basic Safety Training certificate is required from all applicants. Please sign up for an STCW course and obtain the certificate if you don't have it yet.
