Captain – Private 30m M/Y

We are seeking a proactive, energetic and hands-on Captain to join a 30m private motor yacht operating in the Mediterranean. This is a permanent position aboard a single-season yacht with a busy summer programme.

The ideal candidate will be a confident, practical leader who enjoys being actively involved in daily operations, works well within a small crew and is equally comfortable managing the bridge, assisting on deck and supporting the interior team when required.

The yacht operates a strict no-smoking and dry-boat policy. Only candidates currently based in Europe will be considered.

Start date: TBC
Itinerary: Mediterranean – single season
Package: Salary paid in Euros, DOE, 38 days’ paid leave

Experience/Skills required:

• Minimum 1 year’s experience as Captain on a motor yacht of a similar size
• Strong working knowledge of Mini-ISM, including safety procedures, risk assessments and compliance documentation
• Fluent English essential, both written and spoken
• Energetic, physically fit and comfortable with the demands of a busy summer season
• Hands-on approach, willing to assist with deck operations, watersports and interior duties when required
• Positive, approachable leadership style with the ability to motivate and work alongside a small crew
• Strong organisational, administrative, budgeting and accounting skills
• Confident managing yacht operations, maintenance schedules and owner requirements
• Proactive, adaptable and solution-oriented, with excellent problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Must currently be based in Europe

Qualifications required:

• Master 200 GT minimum
• STCW (fully updated) with PSA/PDSD
• Seafarer’s Medical Certificate (ENG1 or equivalent)
• Seaman’s Discharge Book (preferred)
