10 Weeks On / 10 Weeks Off | Spain Based | Private and Charter

Hodgson Marine is recruiting an experienced Rotational Second Engineer 50m, commercially registered, UK flagged motor yacht operating a busy dual-season private and charter program.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established, professional and genuinely happy crew aboard a yacht offering long-term stability and excellent owners.

Currently undergoing a 30-year survey, refit and upgrades.

The PositionThe Second Engineer will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the engine room, working alongside two highly experienced Chief Engineers.

The role is predominantly engineering, although candidates must be happy to assist the deck department during anchoring, mooring operations and chase boat towing arrangements.

Strong AV/IT knowledge is essential.

The yacht is technically active, with ongoing maintenance, refit and upgrade projects, making this an excellent position for a practical, hands-on engineer.

Candidate Requirements Minimum MEOL certification; higher engineering qualifications advantageous

Strong AV/IT knowledge and troubleshooting abilityPractical engineering experience and sound technical judgement

Proactive, can-do attitude and common sense

Comfortable assisting with deck operations when required

Able to work independently and manage daily engine room responsibilities Professional, easy-going personality with a good sense of humour Strong team player who fits naturally into an established crew

Package and Benefits

Rotation: 10 weeks on / 10 weeks off

Salary: To be confirmed

Charter tips: Approximately €15,000 on average, shared with the rotational partner
