Bosun

Magnitude Recruitment is seeking an experienced and hands-on Bosun to join a prestigious motor yacht programme. This position is suited to a confident deck professional with strong leadership skills, excellent maintenance knowledge and previous experience managing and developing a deck team.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Chief and 2nd Officer, taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of the deck team, exterior maintenance, deck operations and ensuring consistently high standards of safety and presentation onboard.

Euro Salary, 4 months on / 1 month off, flights included.

Key Requirements

• Minimum 3 years' yachting experience, including previous Bosun experience
• Yachtmaster 200GT
• Efficient Deckhand qualification
• Navigational Watch Rating ideal
• STCW Basic Training
• Proficiency in survival craft, rescue boats and fast rescue boats
• Strong deck maintenance and product knowledge
• Extensive refit experience
• Working knowledge of yacht paint systems
• Confident tender driver

Deck & Operational Responsibilities

• Lead, guide and train the deck team in daily operations and maintenance
• Delegate tasks and ensure work is completed to the required standard
• Oversee exterior set-up, presentation and maintenance
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards throughout exterior areas
• Manage and optimise storage of deck equipment and products
• Support Officers with deck operations and procedures
• Assist with the creation and implementation of deck and safety procedures
• Promote a positive safety culture onboard
• Monitor quality and maintain high standards across all deck work
• Assist with tender, crane and lifting operations
