Full-Time Mate - 84' Lazzara + Intrepid 345

We are seeking a full-time experienced, professional, and detail-oriented Mate to support the operation, upkeep, and daily management of a private 84' Lazzara motor yacht. This is not a charter role. The vessel is privately owned and used for extended cruising throughout Florida and the Bahamas.

In addition to the Lazzara, the mate will maintain and operate the owner’s 34' Intrepid center console, powered by twin Mercury 350s, keeping it fueled, serviced, and ready for use at all times.

Candidates must have hands-on experience aboard vessels of similar size and demonstrate a commitment to first-class service, vessel safety, and meticulous upkeep. The right person is a capable, dependable second in command who takes pride in a well-kept boat and works seamlessly alongside the captain and owner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the captain in all aspects of safe navigation, operation, and daily management of the vessel.
  • Handle docking, line handling, anchoring, and tender operations, including launching, driving, and retrieving the tender.
  • Maintain the vessel’s appearance and readiness through detailing, washdowns, and routine deck and interior upkeep.
  • Assist with maintenance, repairs, and servicing, and monitor onboard systems to keep the yacht in first-class condition.
  • Operate and maintain the owner’s 34' Intrepid with twin Mercury 350s, including routine servicing, engine care, cleaning, and keeping it ready for use.
  • Prepare the vessel and equipment for guest use, cruising, and fishing, ensuring a safe and seamless experience aboard.
  • Uphold all safety, environmental, and maritime regulations, maintaining readiness for inspections and emergencies.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience on vessels of similar size.
  • Strong seamanship, boat handling, and deck skills.
  • Towing and tender driving experience (preferred).
  • U.S. Coast Guard Captain’s license (preferred).
  • Valid passport (required).
  • Fishing experience a plus.
  • Diving experience a plus.
  • Professional appearance, discretion, and a strong work ethic.
  • Based in or able to reliably report to Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Work Experience Requirements:

All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Yacht or a Cruise Ship.

Language Requirements:

Good knowledge of the English language is required.
