About This role

Deckhand / Engineer – Private / Charter 24m M/Y

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced and hands-on Deckhand / Engineer to join a busy 24m motor yacht operating in the Mediterranean. This is a dual-role position comprising approximately 60% deck duties and 40% engineering responsibilities.

The yacht is seeking a driven, proactive and self-motivated candidate with high energy and excellent physical fitness. The successful candidate must be guest-aware, calm and polite, while remaining highly motivated and able to maintain the vessel in excellent condition throughout a demanding charter programme.

Itinerary: Mediterranean

Package: Salary DOE, paid in Euros, with 44 days’ paid leave

Experience/Skills required:

  • Previous experience in a Deckhand / Engineer or similar dual-role position
  • Physically fit, energetic and comfortable working in a demanding, fast-paced environment
  • Professional and presentable, with a polite and calm manner around guests
  • Confident free-dropping, retrieving and securing the anchor
  • Confident driving tenders and operating jet skis
  • Strong deck maintenance skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Organised and methodical when managing engineering duties and maintenance schedules
  • Able to operate the watermaker and carry out fuel transfers safely
  • Ideally experienced in servicing engines and generators
  • Hands-on, practical and capable of keeping the yacht operational and guest-ready at all times
  • Proactive, self-motivated and able to anticipate maintenance and operational requirements

Qualifications required:

  • AEC 1 and AEC 2
  • STCW (fully updated) with PSA/PDSD
  • Seafarer’s Medical Certificate
  • Seaman’s Discharge Book (preferred)

Work Experience Requirements:

All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Yacht or a Cruise Ship.

Language Requirements:

Good knowledge of the English language is required.

Certificates and Qualifications:

A valid STCW Basic Safety Training certificate is required from all applicants. Please sign up for an STCW course and obtain the certificate if you don't have it yet.
