About This Role

Rotational Second Engineer – Private/Charter 55m M/Y

An opportunity for an experienced Second Engineer to join a well-operated 55m motor yacht running a private and charter programme in the Mediterranean. The yacht is looking for a technically strong, proactive engineer who works well within a professional onboard team.

Candidates already located in Europe will be given priority.

Start date: Ideally 20 July 2026

Itinerary: Mediterranean

Package: Salary DOE, 2:2 rotation

Experience/Skills required:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Second Engineer on similar-sized motor yachts
  • Strong technical knowledge of yacht engineering systems and planned maintenance
  • Previous experience working within a busy private and charter programme
  • Able to work effectively alongside the Chief Engineer and support the wider crew
  • Organised, safety-conscious and proactive in identifying and resolving technical issues
  • Strong communication skills and a professional, team-focused attitude
  • Candidates already based in Europe will be given priority

Qualifications required:

  • EOOW Unlimited Certificate of Competency
  • STCW (fully updated)
  • Seafarer’s Medical Certificate
  • Seaman’s Discharge Book (preferred)

Work Experience Requirements:

All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Yacht or a Cruise Ship.

Language Requirements:

Good knowledge of the English language is required.

Certificates and Qualifications:

A valid STCW Basic Safety Training certificate is required from all applicants. Please sign up for an STCW course and obtain the certificate if you don't have it yet.
