- Estate/House Manager
- Salary:

- Location:

We are working with a new UHNW client to assist in hiring an experienced Global House Manager for a young, single male Principal based primarily in Los Angeles. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised and adaptable professional to take ownership of a busy, high-profile household, with oversight of additional properties in New York, Santa Barbara, and Oakland.
The Principal leads a fast-paced and social lifestyle, entertaining frequently and hosting parties at short notice, and the household can be fast-moving and unpredictable at times. Plans can change with very little warning, so the Global House Manager will need to adapt quickly and anticipate needs before they are asked, working closely alongside the Principal's Personal Assistant to keep everything running smoothly. The Los Angeles residence already has an established team in place, including live-in security staff, a handyman, a private chef, and housekeeping who know the property well, so this role is focused on oversight, coordination, and problem-solving rather than hands-on cleaning.
The Principal's parents reside at one of the properties and require very minimal input, though occasional oversight will still be needed. Regular travel to the New York, Santa Barbara, and Oakland properties will be required to check in on standards, liaise with local staff, and ensure each property is running smoothly in the Principal's absence.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the Los Angeles residence and the Principal's lifestyle
- Manage and coordinate the existing on-site team in Los Angeles — including security, handyman, chef, and housekeeping — ensuring standards are maintained
- Plan and oversee frequent entertaining, parties, and guest events, often at short notice
- Liaise closely with the live-in security team to ensure the Principal's safety and household security protocols are upheld
- Adapt quickly to the Principal's frequently changing plans and short-notice requests
- Work closely alongside the Principal's Personal Assistant to align schedules, priorities, and household needs
- Anticipate needs and identify potential issues before they arise, keeping the household one step ahead
- Travel periodically to the New York, Santa Barbara, and Oakland properties to check on standards and staff
- Liaise with local staff and vendors at each property to ensure consistent presentation and upkeep
- Provide light oversight of the property occupied by the Principal's parents, respecting their preference for minimal involvement
- Manage household budgets, invoices, and vendor accounts across all properties
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and service providers to ensure impeccable upkeep of all residences
- Oversee inventory management, including furnishings and household supplies
- Support with scheduling, logistics, and coordination around the Principal's busy social calendar
- Maintain absolute discretion and confidentiality regarding the Principal's affairs and lifestyle
- Act as the key point of contact between the Principal and household staff across all locations

- Previous experience as a House Manager or Estate Manager within a UHNW private household
- Essential: proven experience managing multiple properties
- Excellent, verifiable references essential
- Fluent English verbal and written skills
- Must be based in or willing to live in Los Angeles, there is no accommodation available
- Comfortable with the lifestyle of a young, social Principal, including frequent entertaining and last-minute changes
- Extremely organised with the ability to bring structure to a fast-paced, occasionally chaotic environment
- Flexible and adaptable in approach, with strong initiative and sound judgement
- Comfortable collaborating closely with a Personal Assistant as part of a wider support team
- Confident managing and directing existing household staff without duplicating their work
- Confident, experienced driver, willing and able to travel to the other properties as needed
- Highly discreet with absolute respect for confidentiality

- Calm under pressure with excellent problem-solving and anticipation skills
