Magnitude Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Tender Engineer / Third Engineer to join the engineering team onboard a 75M+ MY

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys a varied role, combining engineering watchkeeping responsibilities with the maintenance, operation, and management of the vessel's tender fleet. The successful candidate will be technically competent, hands-on, and capable of working within a professional engineering department while ensuring the tenders are maintained to the highest operational and safety standards.

Key Requirements

  • ENG Officer of the Watch (OOW) Certificate
  • Previous experience as both a Third Engineer and Tender Engineer onboard large yachts
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems
  • Experience maintaining and troubleshooting high-performance tenders and associated equipment
  • Valid STCW certification and ENG1 (or equivalent)
  • Excellent English communication skills
  • Professional, safety-conscious, and proactive approach
  • Ability to work effectively within a close-knit engineering team

Key Responsibilities

  • Engineering
  • Assist the Chief and Second Engineer with the safe operation and maintenance of all engineering systems onboard
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance in accordance with the vessel's maintenance system
  • Monitor and maintain machinery spaces, ensuring all equipment operates efficiently
  • Assist with fault finding, repairs, and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical systems
  • Participate in engineering watches and emergency response procedures
  • Maintain accurate engineering records and maintenance documentation
  • Tender Engineering
  • Take responsibility for the maintenance, servicing, and operational readiness of the vessel's tender fleet
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and propulsion systems on tenders
  • Coordinate servicing schedules and maintain detailed maintenance records
  • Ensure tenders, water sports equipment, and associated machinery are maintained to the highest safety and presentation standards
  • Support launch, recovery, fuelling, and operational requirements when required

Work Experience Requirements:

All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Yacht.

Certificates and Qualifications:

All applicants must hold a valid ENG1 certificate to be able to apply for this position.

A valid STCW Basic Safety Training certificate is required from all applicants. Please sign up for an STCW course and obtain the certificate if you don't have it yet.
