Deckhand

Magnitude Recruitment is seeking a motivated and professional Deckhand to join a 55m+ motor yacht operating a private, live aboard owner programme.

This role is suited to a hands-on and guest-focused individual who takes pride in maintaining high standards and enjoys working within a close-knit team. The vessel operates in the Mediterranean during the summer season and is based in Barcelona throughout the winter period.

The successful candidate will support the deck team in all aspects of operations, ensuring the yacht is maintained to a high standard while contributing to a positive and professional onboard environment.

Key Requirements

• 2 years' experience as a Deckhand on motor yachts, ideally 50m+
• Proven longevity in previous positions
• Strong understanding of deck operations and maintenance routines
• Guest-oriented with a professional and approachable manner
• Experience working within private owner programmes preferred
• Shipyard experience considered an advantage
• Valid STCW certification and ENG1 (or equivalent)
• Powerboat Level 2 (preferred)
• Fluent English (spoken and written)

Deck Responsibilities

• Assist with daily deck maintenance including washdowns, polishing, and detailing
• Support mooring, anchoring, and tender operations
• Maintain deck equipment and storage areas to high standards
• Assist with guest activities and ensure a safe onboard environment
• Support deck operations during shipyard periods where required
• Follow safety procedures and contribute to smooth day-to-day operations
