Description

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Bosun to join a professionally run 37m motor yacht. Must have large tender driving experience and a Yachtmaster is essential. Open to male or female candidates.

This is a very busy private/charter boat with a successful charter reputation.

The ideal candidate will be a confident leader with strong deck knowledge, excellent maintenance standards, and the ability to manage the day-to-day operation of the deck department. This position would suit someone who takes pride in their work, leads by example, and is equally comfortable overseeing the deck team and getting involved in all practical duties.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the deck, allocating daily duties and ensuring tasks are completed to a high standard.
• Plan and carry out deck maintenance, including painting, varnishing, polishing, stainless-steel care, teak maintenance, and general upkeep.
• Maintain deck equipment, tenders, water toys, safety equipment, and inventories.
• Assist with docking, anchoring, mooring operations, and bridge watches as required.
• Oversee tender operations and water-sports activities.
• Support guest operations and provide a professional, safety-conscious service at all times.
• Conduct regular safety checks and assist with drills and onboard training.
• Work closely with the Captain and Chief Officer to maintain an organized and efficient deck department.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Bosun or strong Lead Deckhand on a larger yacht
• Strong all-round deck maintenance and seamanship skills
• Confident large tender-driving ability
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Professional appearance and a positive, team-focused attitude
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
• Valid STCW certificates
• Valid ENG1 or equivalent seafarer medical
• Powerboat Level 2 or equivalent
• Yachtmaster qualification is highly advantageous
• Additional watersports, diving, or technical qualifications would be beneficial
