Commissioning & Sea Trials Engineer — 20 m all-electric catamaran (Thailand)

The project — Greyachting (Thailand)
We are completing the commissioning of a 20-metre all-electric catamaran and preparing its sea-trials campaign in Thailand. The electrical engineering team and part of the design team will be on board. We are looking for a skilled marine engineer or technician to lead and support the final commissioning phase and the sea trials.

Your missions

  • Complete the commissioning of onboard systems: electric propulsion, batteries / BMS, power generation and distribution, onboard water management and production (watermaker, fresh-water and grey-water circuits), automation and navigation.
  • Prepare, run and document dockside tests (FAT/HAT) and then the sea trials.
  • Identify and clear punch-list items; coordinate with the electrical team and the design team on board.
  • Measure performance (range, efficiency, battery thermal behaviour, propulsion) and produce trial reports.
  • Contribute to class / flag compliance and to the delivery documentation.
  • Diagnose and resolve any malfunctions encountered, and support the onboard team in identifying parts to correct or modify, through to full resolution.

Profile

  • Marine electrical systems engineer, commissioning engineer, experienced ETO (Electro-Technical Officer), or versatile chief engineer / technician with a strong electrical focus.
  • Proven experience in commissioning and sea trials, ideally on electric / hybrid propulsion or battery (Li-ion) storage.
  • Knowledge of DC/AC systems, BMS, inverters, energy management; able to read electrical schematics.
  • Autonomy, strong safety mindset, ability to document and to work within an international team on board.
  • Languages: fluent English essential. French is a plus.

Language Requirements:

Good knowledge of the English language is required.
