We are seeking a capable, hands-on and enthusiastic Mate / Engineer to join a 40m private motor yacht with a crew of 4 currently located in Florida.

The yacht cruises the USA East Coast, Bahamas and Caribbean with adventurous owners who enjoy exploring new destinations and have plans to venture further afield in the future.

The ideal candidate will be confident carrying out navigational watches, have strong mechanical skills, and be happy working across both deck and engine room duties.

Requirements:

  • Yachtmaster Offshore
  • AEC 1 & 2
  • Valid SCTW BST certificates and Seafarers Medical (ENG1)
  • Valid USA B1/B2 visa
  • Good mechanical skills
  • Experience carrying out navigational watches
  • Positive, enthusiastic and hands-on attitude
  • Willingness to work on deck and in the engine room
  • Strong team player suited to a small crew environment

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, adventure and being part of a close-knit private yacht program.

Salary: $5,000pm DOE
Start date: ASAP

Work Experience Requirements:

All applicants must have previous experience in working on yachts matching the following requirements:

  • Yacht sizes:  30-39m
  • Yacht types:  motor
  • Experience length:  min 2 years

Language Requirements:

Good knowledge of the English language is required.

Certificates and Qualifications:

All applicants must hold a valid ENG1 certificate to be able to apply for this position.

A valid STCW Basic Safety Training certificate is required from all applicants. Please sign up for an STCW course and obtain the certificate if you don't have it yet.

Visa Requirements:

B1/B2 visa is required for this role. US and Canadian citizens do not require the B1/B2 visa.
