Summary
1st Mate position - 41m - Motor yacht
Description
41 meter private/charter yacht is looking for a Chief Officer/Mate.
Experienced crew member holding Master of Yachts 200GT/OICNW 500grt.
ECDIS training (will need to undertake Raytheon ECDIS specific course if not already a holder)
Must be knowledgeable about Mini ISM, competent to run drills without captain, efficient with all areas of paperwork and filing.
MUST be a competent diver, Advanced level or above.
Fishing knowledge is a massive plus and will be ranked higher than those without.
Must have charter experience
I will only consider candidates from (in no specific order) UK, USA, SA, AUS, NZ, CAN, SWEDEN, DENMARK, GERMANY. If the last 3 then English must be perfect.
I will consider MALE and FEMALE
Start date will be ASAP.
References will be checked verbally by Captain
Tattoos will be accepted provided they are not too large/many and of decent appearance.
Nonsmoker
Must have valid driving license
All certs and docs MUST be valid for minimum 6 months including B1B2 if needed, passport etc.
Must be happy to run vessel alone (contractors etc...) as captain is not always onboard.
Vessel plans to remain in Fort Lauderdale at all times when not chartering in the Bahamas. 2027 plan is to head to Belize late February and owner will arrive 1st March approx and stay until late May.
Cruising Belize and Honduras (Roatan) for permit fishing, diving and deep sea fishing. Days off are planned during owner time but dependent on weather location etc.
Plenty of downtime whilst in Lauderdale as vessel kept in Stand by condition for charter so as long as boat ready, stocked and all drills and paperwork are up to date then very flexible working week.
Package is
Salary DOE and we can discuss privately
38 days leave
1 annual return flight
Training package (50% of appropriate course repaid after completion and 50% repaid after additional 12 months employment)
Medical Insurance
Package increases by 10% salary and 7 days leave after first year and positive crew assessment/review
Great crew vibes and relaxed captain (firm but fair).
Certificates and Qualifications:
A valid STCW Basic Safety Training certificate is required from all applicants. Please sign up for an STCW course and obtain the certificate if you don't have it yet.
