2nd Officer

We are seeking a professional and motivated Second Officer to join a well-maintained 55m private motor yacht cruising the Mediterranean. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated officer looking to build experience on a dynamic program with a supportive and experienced crew.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Officer with all navigational duties, including passage planning and bridge watchkeeping
• Maintain up-to-date charts and publications (ECDIS)
• Ensure compliance with ISM, ISPS, and MARPOL regulations
• Oversee safety equipment checks and assist with drills and training
• Support deck operations, including tender driving, anchoring, mooring, and watersports setup
• Assist with crew management and training of junior deckhands
• Maintain accurate logs and documentation

Requirements

• Valid OOW (Yacht <3000GT) Certificate of Competency (or higher)
• STCW (including updated refresher training)
• ENG1 medical certificate
• Strong navigational knowledge and ECDIS proficiency
• Previous experience on similar-sized yachts preferred
• Tender driving experience (RYA Powerboat Level 2 minimum; advanced tickets advantageous)
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
