The vessel operates with a crew of 2-3. This is a hands-on Captain's role, not a management-from-the-bridge position. You will be responsible for all aspects of vessel operation: navigation, boat handling, docking, maintenance scheduling, budget management, crew hiring, and owner relations. The program includes seasonal cruising (New England summers, Caribbean winters), offshore passages, and occasional racing. Possible Mediterranean season in the future.

Requirements:

  • STCW, ENG1 current
  • B1/B2 US visa or US passport (non-negotiable)
  • Demonstrated experience on sailing yachts 70ft+
  • Strong boat handling and docking skills in tight quarters
  • Experience managing vessel budgets and maintenance programs
  • Experience hiring and managing crew
  • Proficiency with a planned maintenance system (Seahub, Dockwa, or similar)

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with New England and Caribbean cruising grounds
  • Performance sailing yacht experience (Swan, Baltic, Wally, Perini or similar)
  • Refit and yard management experience

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience. Details will be discussed with shortlisted candidates. The role includes an annual bonus structure and healthcare.

Work Experience Requirements:

All applicants must have previous experience in working on yachts matching the following requirements:

  • Yacht sizes:  24-29m
