We are working with a private family based in New York to assist in recruiting a dedicated, career-driven Nanny/Personal Assistant to support their two daughters, both in school. This is a wonderful opportunity to join a warm and well-established household in a role that offers both the depth of genuine childcare and the breadth of personal assistant responsibilities.
The family currently employ a full-time Housekeeper and an existing Nanny, and this position has been created to work alongside the current Nanny to ensure comprehensive coverage seven days per week. The successful candidate will serve as a positive role model for both girls, who enjoy a wide variety of after-school activities and extracurricular pursuits. The family also have one cat.
This is a full-time, daily position based in New York, with a requirement for both domestic and international travel. The family are seeking a long-term commitment and will be looking for candidates who demonstrate longevity and loyalty in their previous roles.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out school pick-ups and occasional drop-offs for the youngest daughter
- Provide hands-on, attentive care with a focus on emotional intelligence, independence, and wellbeing
- Prepare simple, healthy meal prep for the family as needed.
- Encourage age-appropriate responsibility, including making beds, setting the table, and personal organization
- Research, coordinate, and book classes, camps, and activities both locally and internationally
- Plan stimulating outings including museums, cultural activities, and city exploration
- Coordinate playdates and communicate confidently with other parents on behalf of the youngest daughter
- Confidently navigate cities, public transport, airports, and international travel arrangements
- Undertake grocery shopping and local errands on behalf of the family
- Maintain calm, orderly environments by resetting play areas and kitchen spaces used during the day
- Organize children's clothing, supplies, backpacks, and daily essentials; manage laundry and room organization
- Liaise with the school regarding the children's schedules, progress, and requirements
- Book medical, dental, and other appointments for the children; attend vet appointments for the family pets
- Support the teenager as a trusted and positive role model
- Assist with packing and unpacking for family travel; plan for trips, researching activities, camps, and clubs
- Manage general family administration including diary management, holiday planning and itineraries, dry cleaning, and coordinating household and vehicle maintenance
- Communicate clearly and professionally with the parents regarding schedules, the children's needs, and observations
Ideal Candidate
- Must have the right to work in the USA and be based in New York
- Previous experience working with children of similar ages, with a genuine interest in their development and wellbeing
- Demonstrates longevity and commitment in previous roles; the family are seeking a long-term placement
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan structured, engaging, and age-appropriate activities
- Confident supporting homework, school routines, and liaising with educational establishments
- Confident driver and swimmer; skiing ability is highly desirable
- Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written; Italian language skills a bonus
- Experience with household management and personal assistant duties
- Calm, patient, emotionally intelligent, and highly discreet
- Computer literate — confident booking travel, appointments, and researching activities
- Experienced traveller, both domestically and internationally; able to adapt easily to different time zones
- CPR trained or willing to undertake training
Package
- Working schedule: 40–50 hours per week, 5 days per week
- When travelling, one guaranteed day off per week or shared coverage during extended trips
- All travel expenses covered, including transportation, meals whilst on duty, and phone/roaming access
- Salary: $150,000+ per annum, dependent on experience

Work Experience Requirements:
All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Yacht.
Language Requirements:
Good knowledge of the English language is required.
Certificates and Qualifications:
A valid STCW Basic Safety Training certificate is required from all applicants. Please sign up for an STCW course and obtain the certificate if you don't have it yet.
