We are working with a private family based in Chelford, near Knutsford in Cheshire, to assist in hiring a full-time Housekeeper. This is a wonderful opportunity to join a well-established and welcoming household, caring for a beautifully presented four-bedroom property complete with a gym and eight bathrooms.

The family consists of two working professionals and a child aged nine, and they are seeking a candidate who takes genuine pride in their work and approaches each day with initiative, professionalism, and discretion. The successful candidate will be responsible for the cleanliness, organisation, and overall functionality of the family home, ensuring it is maintained as an immaculate and comfortable space. The role will be supported by a groundskeeper already in post. The position is available on either a self-employed or employed basis, with the salary adjusted accordingly.

The role commences in April 2026 and is based on a Monday to Friday schedule, 08:30–15:30, with a 30-minute break, totalling 35 hours per week. Candidates must be based locally or willing to commute to the Chelford area.

Key Responsibilities:

Housekeeping & Cleaning

  • Maintain all surfaces, floors, carpets, furniture, and decorations to the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation
  • Perform thorough cleaning of all living spaces, including bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, dining areas, and recreational spaces
  • Select and use appropriate cleaning equipment, tools, and products to achieve optimal results
  • Maintain discretion and respect the family's privacy at all times, adhering to all security protocols

Organisation & Maintenance

  • Maintain a tidy and organised environment throughout the property, ensuring aesthetic harmony in all areas
  • Manage all laundry duties, including washing, ironing, folding, and storing linens and clothing with care
  • Assist with packing and unpacking luggage and support with other household tasks as required
  • Manage household inventories, restocking supplies and maintaining accurate records of household items
  • Assist with food shopping, light cooking, and running errands to ensure the smooth running of the household

Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience working within a private household or luxury hospitality environment
  • Discreet, well-mannered, and able to perform to an exceptional standard under pressure
  • Strong eye for detail and a meticulous approach to all housekeeping duties
  • Excellent communication skills with a confident and professional manner
  • Able to follow household procedures and policies with consistency
  • Physically fit and able to fulfil full-time hours comfortably
  • Preferably a non-smoker
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively alongside existing household staff

Package

Work Experience Requirements:

All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Yacht.

Language Requirements:

Good knowledge of the English language is required.

Certificates and Qualifications:
