A unique opportunity for a hands-on Engineer/Mate to join a high-performance 35m private SY exploring an exciting world-cruising itinerary. This is a role that will combine technical responsibility with active sailing. You will be joining a well-established, social crew with exceptional longevity.

The role:

  • Managing engineering systems onboard, including maintenance, fault finding, and upgrades across complex systems
  • Supporting deck operations including sailing, docking, line handling, and general deck management
  • Standing watch on passage, either supervised or as watch leader depending on experience
  • Assisting with a major delivery from the Caribbean to New Zealand via Panama and French Polynesia. Eventual return to the Caribbean/US
  • Overseeing refit works in New Zealand
  • Operating within a private program with family-oriented guest use and an Owner who adores sailing
  • Initial trial period during delivery, transitioning into a full-time role post-refit

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong engineering background, ideally to advanced AEC level or equivalent
  • Confident sailor with solid deck skills and experience on performance yachts
  • Competent watchkeeper ideally with the ability to lead watches if required
  • Organised, proactive and capable of working independently during yard periods
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with Captain, Owner and contractors
  • Valid visas or ability to enter French Polynesia, New Zealand and Australia
  • Team-oriented individual who would like to join a close-knit crew
  • Start date before mid May 2026

Work Experience Requirements:

All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Yacht.

Language Requirements:

Good knowledge of the English language is required.

Certificates and Qualifications:

All applicants must hold a valid ENG1 certificate to be able to apply for this position.

A valid STCW Basic Safety Training certificate is required from all applicants. Please sign up for an STCW course and obtain the certificate if you don't have it yet.
