Summer Housekeepers – Mayfair & Surrey

Silver Swan is currently seeking a team of summer housekeepers for a longstanding client's family visit to the UK. The client maintains two main properties in London and Surrey, so housekeeper candidates with flexibility to work between both locations are highly desirable. This is an excellent opportunity to join a wonderful team with whom we have been working for years.

We are hiring a team of 8 summer housekeepers to support the households during the family's visit, scheduled from April/May until end of September. Booking housekeepers in advance will ensure a smooth transition upon the family's arrival. This summer position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the smooth running of prestigious households in London and Surrey whilst gaining experience working in UHNW environments.

You must be eligible to work in the UK with your own accommodation. No accommodation is provided. Yacht stewardess experience is preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain the cleanliness and immaculate presentation of all rooms and communal areas throughout the property
• Carry out daily housekeeping duties including vacuuming, dusting, mopping, and polishing to a high standard
• Manage laundry, ironing, and garment care, ensuring all items are treated with appropriate care and attention
• Oversee wardrobe management, including the organisation, folding, and hanging of clothing
• Ensure all household supplies and cleaning products are well-stocked and replenished as required
• Assist with the preparation of guest rooms and common areas ahead of arrivals and during visits
• Liaise professionally with other members of the household team to coordinate daily tasks efficiently
• Support the wider team with ad hoc household duties as requested by the Principal or House Manager
• Report any maintenance issues or household concerns promptly to the relevant team member
• Handle all household items and furnishings with the utmost care and discretion
• Ensure high standards are upheld consistently, even during busy or high-occupancy periods

Ideal Candidate:

• Candidates MUST have the right to live and work in the UK. Sponsorship is not provided.
• You must have your own accommodation and transport
• Must have full availability between April/May – October (time off for pre-booked holidays etc is ok)
• Previous experience working within a private household or luxury hospitality environment
• Comfortable working as part of a larger household team in a fast-paced, high-standard setting
• Strong attention to detail with excellent housekeeping and laundry skills
• Discreet, professional, and respectful of the Principal’s privacy at all times
• Flexible and adaptable, with a positive and accommodating attitude
• Must be based locally or within commutable distance of Surrey/Mayfair

Package:

• Start Date: April/May – October
• Salary: £20 – £25 per hour (approx £1000 – £1300 per week)
• Temporary Summer Contract
• Working Schedule: 5-6 days per week, 8-9 hours per day (hours depending on whether the family are in residence or not), working in rotation with other housekeepers. Weekend cover will be required as needed.
