We are working with a high-profile family that has recently relocated from America to Palermo, Sicily, to assist in hiring a full-time Live-In Executive Housekeeper. This is a wonderful opportunity to join a warm, dynamic household and take ownership of the smooth day-to-day running of a beautifully presented five-bedroom family home. The successful candidate will work alongside an existing morning housekeeper, overseeing their work and ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, organisation, and presentation are always maintained throughout the property.

The family are busy professionals with three young children, full-time nannies, and an active lifestyle, so this is a fast-paced role requiring someone proactive, highly organised, and genuinely passionate about domestic excellence. The role will involve daily oversight of household operations, family meal preparation, light dog care, and occasional international travel with the family to their residences in New York and Mexico. The family operate under US employment law, and the successful candidate will be contracted accordingly.

Accommodation is provided in a private en-suite room within the main residence. Palermo offers a superb quality of life — a vibrant city with exceptional weather, rich culture, and a very affordable cost of living.

Please note: Candidates must hold an EU passport prior to applying as, unfortunately, we do not offer visa sponsorship. If you do not hold an EU passport upon applying, your application will NOT be considered.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the morning housekeeper, ensuring all cleaning and household tasks are completed to the required standard
  • Maintain the cleanliness, order, and presentation of a spacious 300 sqm five-bedroom villa and 50 sqm terrace to an impeccable standard
  • Ensure the household is consistently well-stocked, organised, and free of clutter throughout the day
  • Prepare and serve dinner each evening, with occasional additional meal preparation as required
  • Manage household laundry, ironing, and garment care to a high standard
  • Liaise with household suppliers, service providers, and tradespeople as needed
  • Provide occasional additional walks for the family's small dog, as and when required
  • Assist and cooperate with the nanny team, creating a harmonious and well-functioning household environment
  • Travel internationally with the family to their residences in New York and Mexico when required
  • Manage household inventory and proactively anticipate the needs of the home and family
  • Maintain absolute discretion and confidentiality at all times
  • Ensure the family's nearby beach property is maintained and prepared ahead of visits

Ideal Candidate:

  • Must hold an EU Passport
  • Previous experience as an Executive Housekeeper within a private household environment
  • Confident in managing and supervising other household staff
  • Cooking skills preferable
  • Comfortable working in a family home with three young children and collaborating with nanny staff
  • Happy to travel internationally and work flexibly around the family's schedule
  • Warm, professional, and well-presented, with a proactive and positive attitude
  • Strong attention to detail and high standards across all areas of housekeeping
  • Fluent in English
  • Stable, long-term minded, and committed to building a lasting working relationship with the family

Package:

  • Working schedule: 5 days per week
  • Live-in accommodation provided — private room with en-suite bathroom
