We are delighted to be working with a distinguished private Principal based in Bahrain to assist in hiring a full-time House Manager/Butler. This is a wonderful opportunity for a dynamic, hands-on professional to take ownership of a well-appointed private household and deliver an exceptional standard of service.
The Principal is a well-travelled gentleman in his sixties who divides his time between Bahrain and his international residences and is seeking someone he can trust implicitly to manage his home with warmth, professionalism and quiet efficiency. Whilst the Principal owns a small beach house nearby where he works (never sleeps), the role is focused on the smooth running of his private villa, which will serve as the candidate’s primary base and residence. A small team of gardeners and maids is already in place, and the House Manager/Butler will oversee and coordinate this team in the Principal’s absence and during residence.
The Principal’s family is based across other properties in Bahrain and may also interact with the household from time to time. This is an active, varied role suited to someone energetic and highly capable, equally at ease managing contractors and maintenance as they are delivering polished front-of-house service.
The Principal travels extensively and requires someone who can hold the household to the highest standards independently. The possibility of supporting the Principal at his international properties, including residences in London, may also arise for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full day-to-day management of the villa, ensuring the residence is maintained and presented to an impeccable standard at all times
- Oversee, coordinate, and motivate a small team of maids and gardeners, setting clear expectations and maintaining high standards throughout
- Deliver a warm, attentive personal service to the Principal, including morning tea and light refreshments with care
- Manage household schedules, logistics, and planning during the Principal’s residence and in his absence
- Liaise with and manage external contractors, tradespeople, and service providers, coordinating maintenance and repairs across both properties
- Carry out and oversee light hands-on maintenance tasks, troubleshooting day-to-day issues swiftly and resourcefully
- Ensure all household supplies, provisions, and equipment are well-stocked and in good order
- Run personal errands for the Principal as required, including collections, deliveries, and bespoke household requests
- If your passport allows, support the Principal at international residences as required, including potential travel to London and beyond
- Maintain the utmost discretion, professionalism, and confidentiality at all times
Ideal Candidate
- Female, as requested by the Principal
- Proven experience in a House Manager, Butler, or senior private household role
- Strong service background with the ability to deliver polished, formal and informal front-of-house service
- Confident preparing and presenting breakfast, teas, and light refreshments to a high standard; not required to be a full-time chef
- Hands-on and practical, comfortable handling basic maintenance coordination and property oversight
- A natural leader, confident managing and motivating a small household team with authority and warmth
- Highly organised, self-sufficient, and capable of running a household independently during the Principal’s absence
- Competent driver with a full, clean driving licence
- Holder of a valid EU or UK passport, a distinct advantage for international travel
- Discreet, trustworthy, and professionally presented at all times
Package
- Working schedule: 6 days a week
- Live-in accommodation provided at the villa
- Salary: €4,000 net per month (tax-free)
- Annual holiday allowance
- Travel expenses covered when accompanying or supporting the Principal
