Deck/Engineer – Private 49m M/Y

The vessel is Mediterranean-based with a private program and offers a positive working environment for someone who enjoys being practical, organised, and proactive in the engine room.

Itinerary: Italy (Mediterranean-based)
Package: Salary paid in Euros, DOE | 60 days paid leave

Experience / Skills required:

Minimum MEOL or equivalent engineering certificate

• Previous experience as Assistant or Junior Engineer on 40–60m yachts preferred
• Comfortable carrying out daily engine room rounds and monitoring machinery parameters
• Good hands-on mechanical skills, including pumps, filters, valves, sea strainers, and general engine room maintenance
• Experience supporting planned maintenance systems (PMS) and routine servicing tasks
• Familiarity with yacht hotel systems, including watermakers, sewage treatment plants, HVAC/chillers, and hot water systems
• Basic electrical fault-finding ability and understanding of onboard alarm systems
• Experience assisting with tender and toy maintenance (outboards, jet skis, deck equipment) is a plus
• Practical mindset with strong attention to engine room cleanliness and organisation
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work closely with the Deck department

Qualifications required:

• MEOL certificate (minimum)
• STCW (fully updated)
• Seafarer’s Medical Certificate
• Seaman’s Discharge Book (preferred)
