Silver Swan is currently working with a private client in the Cotswolds to help them hire a professional Domestic Couple (Chef & Housekeeper) to manage and maintain a beautiful 7-bedroom manor house. The property is primarily used as a weekend residence, with the owner in residence most weekends and occasionally entertaining small groups of guests.
This is a warm and informal household where the focus is on good food, relaxed hospitality and maintaining the home to an excellent standard. The successful couple will take pride in running the house smoothly and ensuring the property is always welcoming and well presented.
The role would suit a friendly, discreet and organised couple who enjoy country living and are comfortable working in a peaceful rural environment with minimal supervision. The current couple are leaving after eight years, and the owners would ideally like the successful candidates to start as soon as possible in order to allow a thorough handover.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner for the Principals, primarily Friday to Sunday.
- Cook for typically two people, occasionally catering for small gatherings of up to 12 guests.
- Plan seasonal menus in consultation with the owner.
- Source high-quality ingredients, ideally using local and seasonal produce.
- Maintain a clean, organised and efficiently run kitchen.
- Manage kitchen supplies, food storage and stock rotation.
- Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the 7-bedroom manor house.
- Carry out general housekeeping including cleaning, laundry and ironing.
- Prepare guest bedrooms, including changing bed linen and ensuring rooms are guest-ready.
- Provide turndown service for the owners and guests when required.
- Serve drinks before meals and assist with informal table service.
- Ensure guest and communal areas are always beautifully presented.
- Assist with simple outdoor duties such as filling log baskets and maintaining fireplaces.
- Support occasional light estate tasks including watering plants and feeding chickens and doves.
Ideal Candidate:
- Must hold a UK passport or the Right to work in the UK.
- At least one of the Couple must hold a Driving License.
- Previous experience working together as a Domestic Couple in a private household.
- Strong cooking skills with the ability to prepare fresh, seasonal meals.
- High standards of housekeeping and household presentation.
- Discreet, trustworthy and professional in all aspects of work.
- Organised and proactive with the ability to manage a household independently.
- Friendly and personable with a natural hospitality mindset.
- Comfortable working in a quiet rural setting.
- Flexible and happy to assist with occasional entertaining.
Package:
- Working schedule: 5 days a week – Mondays and Tuesdays off.
- Separate two-bedroom cottage with private garden provided.
- 30 days holiday.

Work Experience Requirements:
All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Yacht.
Language Requirements:
Good knowledge of the English language is required.
Certificates and Qualifications:
A valid STCW Basic Safety Training certificate is required from all applicants. Please sign up for an STCW course and obtain the certificate if you don't have it yet.
