Housekeeper Cook Companion - South Yorkshire

We are working with a private British client based in Westwoodside, South Yorkshire, to help her appoint a dedicated Housekeeper Cook Companion. This is a highly personal and trusted role supporting a warm and engaging Principal who lives independently in a charming cottage in the countryside with 15 acres.

The successful candidate will provide companionship, light household support, and day-to-day organisational assistance, ensuring the home runs smoothly while maintaining an enjoyable and structured routine. The Principal is creative and sociable, with a love for painting, gardening, church visits, and family time. She is seeking a kind, proactive companion who can offer both practical assistance and uplifting company.

The position is ideally offered on a live-out basis to someone within a commutable distance, though a live-in arrangement can be considered for the right candidate. The Principal spends time between Yorkshire and her large house in London and occasionally travels internationally to visit family. There may also be opportunities to accompany the Principal on trips to Monaco and other destinations as they arise.

This role is best suited to a candidate seeking a long-term position, who is comfortable working independently and managing household organisation while providing warm and supportive companionship.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide warm and engaging companionship to the Principal
• Support the Principal in maintaining a structured and enjoyable daily routine
• Manage light housekeeping duties and ensure the home remains organised and well presented
• Prepare nutritious lunches and light meals as required
• Drive the Principal to appointments, church services, shops and social engagements
• Provide gentle reminders regarding medication and daily wellbeing
• Monitor general wellbeing and liaise discreetly with relevant professionals if required
• Accompany the Principal on trips to London, Monaco and occasional international travel
• Encourage hobbies such as painting, gardening and outdoor activities
• Proactively suggest outings, visits and social activities
• Ensure the Principal’s comfort and safety at all times
• Maintain discretion, professionalism and respectful boundaries within the household

Ideal Candidate

• Female candidate essential
• Previous experience in a companion, lifestyle support or similar role preferred
• Calm, patient and emotionally intelligent with a warm personality
• Confident driver with a clean driving licence
• Comfortable managing household organisation independently
• Tech savvy and confident using everyday technology and electronic devices
• Naturally proactive while remaining respectful of the Principal’s independence
• Flexible and willing to travel internationally when required
• Trustworthy, discreet and seeking a long-term position
• Preferred age range 28–44, although exceptional candidates outside this range will be considered

Package

• Working schedule: 5 days a week (flexibility required)
• All travel expenses covered
• 25 days annual leave
• Live-out position (live-in option considered for the right candidate)
• Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 per annum
