Captain wanted
Sailing Catamaran 65 ft | Season 2026 | Montenegro

Our client, an avid sailing enthusiast, is looking for an experienced Captain for the upcoming 2026 season aboard a 65 ft sailing catamaran (2018) based in Montenegro. The yacht is used by the owner's family. A calm, professional and family-oriented approach is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Safe navigation and seamanship of a 65 ft sailing catamaran in the Adriatic
  • Full vessel management: maintenance, technical systems, safety equipment, compliance
  • Itinerary planning in consultation with the owner — anchorages, marinas, points of interest
  • Coordination with the Stewardess/Cook for smooth daily operations
  • Ensuring the highest standards of safety and comfort for guests

Requirements:

  • Strong proven experience on sailing catamarans — this is essential
  • Excellent knowledge of the Adriatic and Mediterranean cruising grounds
  • Hands-on technical skills: engines, watermaker, electronics, rigging
  • Calm, discreet, professional demeanour; comfortable working with families and children
  • Fluent English

Details:

  • Contract: Seasonal
  • Season: Approx. 10–15 May — 15–30 September 2026
  • Vessel: Sailing catamaran 65 ft (2018)
  • Location: Montenegro (Adriatic Sea)
  • Crew on board: 2 (Captain + Stewardess/Cook)
  • Languages: English required

The crew consists of just two people — a Captain and a Stewardess/Cook — so strong teamwork, versatility and mutual support are key. Couple teams (Captain & Stewardess) are highly welcome — this format has worked very successfully in previous seasons.

Work Experience Requirements:

All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Yacht.

Language Requirements:

Good knowledge of the English language is required.

Certificates and Qualifications:

All applicants must hold a valid ENG1 certificate to be able to apply for this position.

A valid STCW Basic Safety Training certificate is required from all applicants. Please sign up for an STCW course and obtain the certificate if you don't have it yet.
