Position Snapshot

• From $5000 US / month DOE/Negotiable
• Start: End of March / April
• NZ/Aus based for next 2 years
• 40-60 days annual leave

A high profile 50m private / charter motor yacht is searching for an experienced 2nd engineer to join their programme. The vessel operates a mix of private trips and charters and will be based in the NZ/AUS region for the next two years, followed by a world cruise. The 2nd engineer will support the Chief Engineer throughout major maintenance and repairs, while assisting the deck team on occasion during guest trips. The position could suit a local AUS/NZ engineer from a commercial cadetship program; yacht experience is not necessary. Candidates in the AUS/NZ region will be given priority.

The Ideal Candidate

• MEOL (or higher) or EOOW
• Previous yacht or commercial engineer experience
• Interested in learning under an experienced Chief Engineer
• Hands on with engineering tasks and technically minded
• Can share in engineering watches
• Enjoys role variety and can assist on deck
• STCW and valid Seafarer Medical

Qualification: EOOW or MEOL

Location: Auckland, NZ, with world itinerary

Start Date: Late March / Early April

Summary: Primary role is 2nd Engineer; when guests are onboard, support for deck operations is required.

Salary: 5000 USD (negotiable)

Leave: 40-60 days (negotiable)
