Program Culture & Expectations

This is a professional, well-run program, but not a stiff or overly formal one. We are seeking a career-oriented stewardess with a strong work ethic who takes pride in maintaining high standards while fostering a positive, practical onboard culture. The ideal candidate is mature, organized, proactive, eager to learn, and anticipates guest needs well. Needs to have 2 years of hospitality service experience. This role requires clear communication, team effort, and a progressive mindset.

Position Overview

  • Title: Second Stewardess
  • Vessel: 45m Motor Yacht
  • Supporting Vessels: Tow-behind chase boat and onboard tenders
  • Mission: Owner family use and enjoyment, with occasional charter
  • Compensation: USD $4,500.00 per month, DOE
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Reports To: Captain
  • Operating Areas: Winter - Fort Lauderdale, FL and the Bahamas. Summer - New England.
  • Crew Complement (8 FT): Captain, Mate, Engineer, Bosun, Chief Stewardess, Second Stewardess, Stew/Deck, Chef

Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience onboard comparable or larger yachts, with 2 years of service or hospitality experience
  • Charter experience preferred
  • Comfortable with guest service and interaction
  • Proven ability to be a deputy to Chief Stew, take delegation of responsibilities, manage workflow, and maintain high standards

Required Certifications & Documents (minimum 6 months validity)

  • Safe Food Handler Certificate
  • STCW Basic Training
  • Valid Passport
  • Valid Driver License
  • B1/B2 Visa (for non-U.S. citizens)
  • ENG1 or STCW-equivalent medical certificate

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of:

  • Professional reference checks and prior employment verification
  • Personal background check. A clear criminal history and driving record (including OUI/DUI) are required
  • Pre-employment drug screening

Certificates and Qualifications:

A valid STCW Basic Safety Training certificate is required from all applicants. Please sign up for an STCW course and obtain the certificate if you don't have it yet.
