We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Private Chef to provide exceptional culinary services for a family within a luxury, fully staffed private residence in Knightsbridge.

This is a unique role due to the healthy work-life balance: working a very flexible 40-hour week within a team of 3 chefs, catering for a family of 4 plus nannies. The schedule is organised between the chefs so you can ensure your shifts suit your personal life week by week. You will work in a closed kitchen with little client interaction, which suits some chefs more than others.

The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to create customised menus that cater to the family’s individual preferences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and prepare customised breakfast, lunch and dinner menus tailored to the client’s dietary preferences and requirement
  • Manage all aspects of kitchen operations, including inventory control, ordering produce from trusted suppliers and maintaining cleanliness
  • Work alongside the other chefs and wider household team and foster a collaborative team environment
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain hygiene standards across all food preparation areas
  • Serve meals in an elegant and professional manner, ensuring presentation aligns with client expectations
  • Adapt recipes and cooking techniques to accommodate special dietary needs (including gluten intolerance)
  • Maintain organised records of food inventories, menus, and meal plans
  • Occasional work in the secondary, weekend residence in Surrey
  • Occasional travel to work across Europe, ski resorts and yacht (1-2 times per year)

Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven experience in private cheffing environments
  • Extensive knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management
  • Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional attention to detail in food presentation and service delivery
  • Previous experience working in a private household is highly desirable
  • Ability to adapt quickly to client preferences while maintaining high-quality standards
  • Good communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members

Package

  • Hours: around 40 hours per week
  • Shifts: A weekly rota with 2 x other chefs, working shifts either 7am-3pm, 2pm-10pm, or weekends 8am-10pm (if working double shifts over the weekend, you have 3 days off in the week)
  • Opportunity to travel across Europe with the family
  • Potential for additional time off when the family are travelling
  • Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 (DOE)
