Housekeeper/Cook – New York

We are working with a private client in New York to help them hire an experienced and personable Housekeeper/Cook for their family home on the Upper East Side. This is a long-term role supporting a single gentleman within a relaxed, family-oriented townhouse environment, where warmth, flexibility, and trust are key. The household is informal and welcoming, not a formal or heavily staffed residence. The successful candidate will work independently, managing daily housekeeping and laundry, and preparing healthy, home-style dinners two to three times per week. The client has had long-term staff previously and is seeking someone who will become a valued and trusted part of the household. The position is primarily live-out, Monday to Friday, however there is flexibility around hours. There is also potential for live-in accommodation for a few nights per week, or full-time live-in for the right candidate. Occasional travel with the Principal may be available if desired.

Key Responsibilities

• Daily housekeeping of a 6,000 sq ft townhouse
• Laundry and ironing, including wardrobe care
• Preparing healthy dinners for one to two people, two to three evenings per week
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation throughout the home
• Grocery shopping and basic household errands
• Providing a warm, friendly presence within the household
• Greeting the Principal and guests in a polite and welcoming manner
• Assisting with the care of a large husky dog, including walking if desired
• Ensuring the home is well presented when family visit during holidays
• Working flexibly with changing schedules and hours
• Liaising with a part-time driver when required
• Upholding discretion and confidentiality at all times

Package

• Working schedule: Monday to Friday (flexibility required)

• Salary: $125,000 – $130,000 gross per annum (DOE)
