Currently seeking a reliable, organised, and integral House Manager / Interior Property Manager to oversee the smooth day-to-day operations of a few private residences in Narooma, NSW.
Narooma is an up-and-coming coastal town on the NSW South Coast, with pristine surf beaches, acclaimed eateries and mountain bike trails, where the rural green meets the coastal blue.
The ideal candidate will take pride in maintaining well-presented houses in a welcoming and organised environment. The role is varied and diverse and includes looking after the properties, animals and vegetable garden. It is an excellent opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic and enjoys working both indoors and outdoors and who thrives on task variety, multi-tasking and managing a range of tasks within working hours.
The House Manager will manage a team of two and will also work closely with the exterior manager, farm hands and other core stakeholders including the EA. This is largely a non-guest-in managerial position as the owner largely looks after themselves when in residence and the House Manager is not required to perform service or concierge duties but should be on standby for any property issues that may arise.
Replacing the house manager of several years, the HM will inherit pre-built interior procedures, checklists and interior guides.
Core days are Monday to Friday with the possibility of afterhours if needing to tend to an issue. Open to candidates relocating and can temporarily assist with sourcing accommodation until the house manager is able to find a suitable rental (live-out role).
Key Responsibilities
- Manage small interior team and daily household operations
- Manage household supplies, inventories, and schedules
- Provide housekeeping and organisational support as required
- Organise and maintain personal items such as ice bath, dive gear, gym and sports equipment
- Errands and food provisioning
- Liaise with property owners and stakeholders when required
- Ensure the home is turnkey, guest-ready and maintained to a high standard
- Ensure animals are cared for and the vegetable garden is maintained
- Manage interior staff effectively
About You
- Highly organised with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and task-management skills
- Ability to work independently and with a small established team
- Previous experience in household management, hospitality, chief stewardess or property management roles essential
- Trustworthy, integral and reliable
- Valid driver’s licence
Start: When the right candidate is found
Salary: $130,000–$140,000 AUD / year (open to negotiation for very experienced candidates)
Will consider candidates Australia-wide who are open to relocation.
