Key Communications: Head of Guest Services, Hosts, Estate Team

About Moskito:
Moskito is an exclusive ultra-luxury and private island community in the British Virgin Islands. The island features communal areas such as beaches, a Beach House, tennis courts, a gym, and watersports areas, alongside seven estates, each managed individually but collectively contributing to the overall homeowner and guest experience. Moskito is committed to delivering world-class hospitality and private residential services, making it a premier destination for discerning guests.

Responsible For:
The Head of Guest Experience is the senior on-estate leader responsible for delivering exceptional, polished, and memorable guest experiences, with a strong focus on food + beverage, dining, bar service, events, and evening hosting.

This role oversees the Estate Guest Experience Team (Hosts) and is accountable for all aspects of the on-estate food and beverage experience — from pre-arrival planning through on-island delivery. The Head of Guest Experience ensures that service standards, menus, beverage programs, events, and evening experiences are thoughtfully designed, well-prepared, and confidently executed.

This role is intentionally distinct from the Head of Guest Services. While Guest Services focuses on logistics, planning, and coordination, the Head of Guest Experience is the experiential lead — heavily involved in dining, bar, service culture, and live guest-facing delivery, particularly during evenings and events.

Detailed Responsibilities:
Includes but is not limited to:
• Lead, manage, and oversee the Estate Guest Experience Team (Hosts), setting clear service standards and expectations.
• Act as the primary experiential leader on estate during guest stays, particularly during afternoon, evening, dining, and event periods.
• Oversee all food + beverage experiences on estate, including dining service, bar service, and events.
• Develop and deliver new dining concepts, service styles, and experiential food + beverage moments.
• Train Hosts on cocktails, wine knowledge, service styles, and guest engagement.
• Lead pre-arrival food + beverage planning with guests, including menus, bar selections, wine pairings, and service preferences.
• Oversee beverage inventory planning, stock takes, and inventory management.
• Ensure bar menus, dining menus, and printed collateral are accurate, updated, and guest-ready.
• Coordinate table décor, service ware, entertainment, and event-related food + beverage requirements.
• Lead evening operations, including dinners, bar service, events, and celebrations.
• Maintain a visible hosting presence and ensure guests feel welcomed, guided, and cared for.
• Ensure daily setup and takedown of dining and bar spaces align with planned guest activity.

Other Duties
• Manage inventory & stock take of FF&E and OS&E, including glassware, napkins, placemats and service supplies, and notifying EM when replenishment is required.
• Work in close partnership with the Estate Manager and Head of Guest Services to ensure seamless guest delivery.
• Coordinate with Guest Services on itineraries, timing, and logistics to support experiential delivery.
• Uphold Moskito Island values, service standards, and professional conduct at all times.
• Ensure food safety, hygiene, health + safety, and responsible alcohol service standards are followed.
• Follow and enforce SOPs related to food + beverage service, setup, takedown, and events.
• Provide feedback and recommendations to continuously improve menus, service standards, and guest experience concepts.
• Step into hands-on hosting, service, or bartending roles as required to support the guest experience.
• Participate in training initiatives and island-wide experience alignment.
• Ensure that all control procedures are followed and enforced, and that all statutory requirements are understood and followed.
• Co-operate with management and other workers to ensure a harmonious working and living atmosphere.
• Attend meetings as required and to support the communication process.
• Carry out any other duties as reasonable request made by management.
• Behave in appropriate manner as a representative of the company when off island.
• You shall not, during the course of your employment or thereafter, disclose to any person any confidential information relating to the business dealings of the Company, guests or employees or any other matters that may come to your knowledge by reason of your employment.
• Be well groomed and representable in uniform (provided by the company) when on duty.
• Be willing to allow flexibility to work extended hours when needed including evenings, weekends and public holidays as well as stay overnight.
• Be willing to carry out your duties on Moskito Island and any other designated location in the BVI.

Key Skills/Qualifications
• Strong food + beverage background with experience in restaurants, resorts, yachts, or private estate environments.
• Previous experience as a Restaurant Supervisor, Assistant Manager, Head Steward, or similar F+B leadership role.
• Strong wine knowledge, including pairing principles and guest-facing recommendations.

• Proven ability to lead service teams and deliver high-touch guest experiences.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and planning.
• Comfortable working evenings and leading live service environments.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
