Domestic Couple - London

Silver Swan is working with a friendly and down-to-earth UHNW couple in North London to assist in hiring a long-term Housekeeper & Groundskeeper/Maintenance Couple. This can be a live-in or a live-out role and could suit a couple or two single candidates, of which one can live in.

This is an opportunity to join a household that values loyalty, professionalism, and genuine care for its team. The couple reside in a beautifully renovated four-storey property featuring four bedrooms, a cinema, generous living spaces, and a separate summer house equipped with a sauna, gym, and pool.

The successful couple will enjoy well-appointed live-in accommodation within the property's light-filled basement, complete with a private entrance. All onsite leisure facilities may be used out of hours or when the principals are away. The couple also own a second home on the South West coast, and occasional travel will be required to prepare and maintain the property ahead of family visits.

Key Responsibilities

• Daily cleaning, housekeeping, and overall presentation of the main residence
• Laundry and ironing, including care of delicate and high-value fabrics
• Wardrobe management and organisation
• Kitchen management including stock checks, ordering, and rotation
• Cooking family-style meals and assisting with small dinner parties
• Care and cleaning of fine art, furniture, and specialist items
• Weekly full-house review and reporting of any maintenance needs
• Coordination of contractors, gardeners, and ad hoc staff
• Running errands including shopping, dry cleaning, and deliveries
• Travel to the second property to oversee upkeep and prepare for family arrivals
• Maintenance and care of the summer house, pool, gym, greenhouse, and external areas
• DIY tasks, basic repairs, and coordination of tradespeople
• Pool area cleaning and exterior care
• Light driving duties and car maintenance
• Monthly utility meter readings and property administration
• House- and pet-sitting when the principals are away

Ideal Candidate

• Must have the right to live and work in the UK
• Previous experience working as a domestic couple in private households, chalets, or yachts
• Both candidates must be confident drivers
• Skilled in housekeeping, maintenance, and general household operations
• Experience caring for fine art and specialist materials is advantageous
• Comfortable with animals (small dog and occasional cats)
• Discreet, trustworthy, and committed to long-term employment
• Warm, proactive, and able to work independently and as part of a team

Package

• Working schedule: 5 days per week, typically 8:30am–5:00pm (flexibility required to work occasional weekends with days off in lieu)
• Accommodation provided within a private basement suite with separate entrance, double bedroom with en suite, private living room, and near-exclusive use of the formal catering kitchen
• Parking permit provided
• Salary: approx. £80,000 combined gross per annum
• Annual discretionary bonus
• 4% employer pension contribution
• 23 days holiday (plus bank/public holidays)
• Start date: early February 2026
• DBS check and three verbal references required
• Probationary period: 3 months (2 weeks’ notice), thereafter 2 months’ notice
• 40 hours per week with 1 hour unpaid lunch break
• NDA to be signed
