ISM Manager – Yacht Management

I am working with a well-established maritime company seeking an ISM Manager to maintain and develop its Safety Management System for a managed yacht fleet. This role sits at the centre of operations and works closely with an experienced in-house technical and management team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, update, and improve the Safety Management System in line with ISM Code requirements.
  • Conduct internal audits and ensure ongoing regulatory compliance.
  • Lead emergency preparedness planning, drills, and risk assessments.
  • Act as a point of contact for captains and crew regarding safety and compliance.
  • Liaise with flag states, classification societies, and regulatory bodies as required.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Company Security Officer (CSO) (desirable)
  • Competent to perform ISM audits on yachts (essential)
  • Experience working with large yachts 60m +

Preferred Backgrounds

Open to candidates from a range of maritime backgrounds, including:

  • Flag state authorities
  • Classification societies
  • Yacht or ship management operators
  • Experienced seafarers looking to transition ashore, provided they meet the core requirements and demonstrate the right approach to safety and compliance

Location:

  • Must be based in East Yorkshire or willing to relocate. On-site presence is required.
  • Must have existing legal Right to work in the UK.

Work Experience Requirements:

All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Yacht or a Cruise Ship.

Language Requirements:

Good knowledge of the English language is required.

Certificates and Qualifications:

All applicants must hold a valid ENG1 certificate to be able to apply for this position.

A valid STCW Basic Safety Training certificate is required from all applicants. Please sign up for an STCW course and obtain the certificate if you don't have it yet.
