Live-Out Maternity Nurse – Geneva

Silver Swan is currently assisting a lovely family based in Geneva to find an experienced live-out Maternity Nurse to support them following the birth of their second child due on 12th January. This is a short-term position for approximately 3–4 months, providing essential postnatal support and newborn care during the early stages.

The family also has a 3-year-old boy who attends nursery full-time and is cared for by an existing live-in nanny. The Maternity Nurse will therefore focus solely on the newborn, ensuring a calm and nurturing environment while supporting the mother’s recovery and routine establishment.

The role is live-out, so applicants must already be based in Geneva or within easy daily commuting distance, as no accommodation will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide day or night support for up to 12 hours per day, depending on the family’s schedule
• Assist with all aspects of newborn care including feeding, settling, and establishing gentle sleep routines
• Support the mother during initial breastfeeding period (up to 2–3 weeks) and transition to formula feeding thereafter
•  Advise and assist with bottle preparation and sterilisation
• Maintain a clean and organised nursery environment
• Monitor the baby’s wellbeing, feeding, and sleeping patterns, keeping daily records
•  Offer guidance and reassurance to parents as required
• Ensure a calm, professional, and nurturing presence in the home
•  Work collaboratively with the live-in nanny and wider household team

Ideal Candidate:

• Experienced maternity nurse with recognised postnatal or newborn qualifications
• Proven track record supporting newborns and new mothers in private households
• Confident advising on both breastfeeding and formula feeding routines
• Gentle, discreet, and supportive in approach
• Flexible with day or night shifts as required
• Fluent in English; French an advantage
• Already resident in or near Geneva (live-out only)

Package: 

• Working schedule: Up to 12 hours per day (day or night as agreed)
• Duration: Approximately 3–4 months from mid-January
• No accommodation provided – live-out role only
• Start Date: Mid-January 2026
• Salary: CHF 400 net per day DOE
