Overview

A remarkable seasonal position for an experienced couple to manage a spectacular 16,000 sq ft private lodge in central Vail, Colorado with ski-in/ski-out access. This role offers the perfect balance of high-end hospitality and mountain lifestyle, with excellent skiing time built into your schedule.

The lodge features 8 bedroom suites across 4 floors, complete with massage room, external hot tub, internal pool and gym, cinema room and extensive terraces. Guest usage is approximately 6 weeks per season (Christmas/New Year, late January, and March), providing a varied rhythm to your work.

An exceptional couple may be asked to transition to the Principal's yacht after the ski season.

Job duties

Responsibilities of the Seasonal Couple (Chef & Stewardess/Masseuse) in Vail, Colorado, include:

Chef

  • Plan menus and prepare informal buffet or family style breakfast daily, served before 10:00am
  • Manage all food ordering, inventory, and kitchen stock throughout the season
  • Create elegant canapés and evening meals – formal plated service for guest occasions or relaxed family style dining for Principals and children
  • Develop health-conscious menus with emphasis on fresh, seasonal ingredients and Asian flavours, particularly Thai cuisine
  • Accommodate any ad-hoc dietary preferences or requests with creativity and flexibility
  • Maintain immaculate kitchen standards and complete daily cleaning protocols
  • Coordinate with Stewardess on service timing and presentation
  • Manage kitchen budget and supplier relationships in Vail area
  • Plenty of time to ski once breakfast service and kitchen are cleaned down

Stewardess/Masseuse

  • Complete morning service of Principal suite including bed making, refreshing bathrooms and general housekeeping
  • Maintain the lodge throughout the day including living areas, cinema room, pool area, gym, and terraces
  • Monitor and maintain lodge ambiance including lighting, temperature, music and floral arrangements
  • Provide polished table service for all meals including setting, serving, clearing and basic wine service
  • Evening turndown service for Principal suite with attention to detail
  • Co-ordinate with Chef on meal service and assist with food preparation, plating, or clearing as needed
  • Manage lodge laundry and linens
  • Provide professional massage services when requested by family or guests
  • Assist with basic concierge services – restaurant reservations, lift tickets, activity bookings
  • Ample skiing time between morning and evening duties

Both positions to include:

  • Occasional childcare when required
  • Full lodge turnaround between guest visits
  • Flexibility and teamwork approach

Alternatively, the client will consider individual candidates as Chef, Stewardess or Masseuse, with remaining positions recruited independently.

Candidates must be/have:

  • Ideally experienced as a couple in yachting or similar high-end hospitality, ideally luxury ski chalets/lodges
  • Valid B1/B2 visa, US work authorisation, or eligibility for ESTA approval
  • Fluent English
  • Exceptional standards with a hands-on, can-do attitude and willingness to go above and beyond
  • Professional, discreet, and highly proactive – able to anticipate needs before they arise
  • Adaptable team players who thrive in a remote mountain setting
  • Strong culinary skills with Asian cuisine experience (Chef)
  • Polished housekeeping and service standards (Stewardess)
  • Qualified massage therapist (if Masseuse role)

Less experienced/first season couples will be considered.

Accommodation

A private bedroom, bathroom and small kitchen.

Hours / Contract

Full-time. Mid December 2025 - April 2026.

Start date approximately 10th December for lodge preparation ahead of guest arrival 18th December.

Paid through a UK entity; self-employed arrangements possible.

Salary

€8,000 per month (combined) for entry-level / green applicants. 

Applicants with relevant experience will be considered for a higher salary, reflecting their skills and background.

Exceptional candidates may transition to the Principal's yacht after the ski season.
