Family Description and Location

A lovely British family with two school-aged children are seeking an experienced domestic couple to join them on their beautiful estate. The home is a large 9-bedroom property set in a large garden in Surrey. It is maintained to a “show home” (6* hotel) standard. Facilities include two swimming pools and a gym, with additional support from a contract gardener, pool technician, and a permanent maintenance team. The family travel frequently during school holidays (around 4 months of the year). There are no pets in residence.

Job Description

This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for the smooth running and high standard of the household. Duties will include:

• Full housekeeping, laundry, and care of the home.
• Care of delicate items, handwashing, and some wardrobe management.
• Family cooking on a daily basis (menus to be discussed and agreed).
• Serving at table for occasional entertaining.
• General organisation and property management, with a proactive approach to scheduling and maintenance.
• Chauffeuring duties including school runs, shopping, errands, and trips to London.
• Car washing, refuelling, and general security of the property.
• Oversight of builders and tradespeople.
• Occasional trips to London to manage and deep clean a small apartment.
• Supporting with outdoor tidiness (note: grounds are maintained by contractors).

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience working as a couple in a private household.
• Self-starters with the ability to manage tasks independently.
• At least one driver with solid driving experience.
• One of the couple should be computer-literate and confident with record keeping/maintenance logs.
• Strong checkable references.
• Ex-yacht couples with transferable experience will also be considered.

Days of Work, Accommodation, and Salary

• Monday–Friday, 8:30am–6:00pm with a one-hour break.
• Additional half to full day when the family travel (time off in lieu will be given).
• Up to two weeknights babysitting per month, with notice (occasional).
• Holidays to be taken during school holidays.
• Excellent live-in accommodation provided: a separate 2–3-bedroom lodge with private garden and terrace (all bills included). Pets considered on a case-by-case basis.
• Salary £75,000–£90,000 depending on skills and experience.
• Immediate start possible, though the family can wait until September for the right couple
