Overview:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Workforce Scheduler to join a leading global organisation within the marine and cruise industry.
This role offers the chance to work within a dynamic and fast-paced operations environment, supporting the planning and logistics for specialised shipboard crew.
Reporting to the Director of Marine Operations, this position is ideal for someone with a background in workforce scheduling, planning, or crew administration who thrives on solving complex challenges and implementing efficient, data-driven solutions.
This is an office based role and all applicants must live within a commutable distance to Weybridge Surrey or be willing to relocate. Existing Right to Work in the UK is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and manage crew assignments and rotation schedules for the Marine department.
- Support effective par level planning processes and ensure compliance with established operational procedures.
- Design and implement optimised scheduling and workforce solutions based on fleet and business needs.
- Maintain clear communication with Marine Operations, department leadership, and crew members on all aspects of scheduling, succession planning, recruitment, and logistics.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and agreements, including flag and port state requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and internal policies.
- Maintain accurate employee data within HR systems, including performance details to support succession planning.
- Provide regular updates, reporting, and problem-solving support as required.
- Proven experience in one or more of the following: workforce scheduling, planning, recruiting, or shipboard crew administration.
- Previous experience in workforce analytics, par level planning, scheduling, or logistics.
- Strong analytical thinking — able to assess complex situations and develop practical, reasoned solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to operate effectively in a multinational environment.
- Highly organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work flexibly to meet business needs.
- Strong command of English, both written and spoken, with the ability to interpret procedures and present information clearly.
- Experience in business analytics or data-driven workforce planning.
- Familiarity with automated HR or workforce management systems.
- Understanding of general shipboard operations and organisational structures within the cruise or maritime industry.
- Knowledge of immigration, visa, and certification requirements for seafarers in various regions.
- Awareness of flag and port state regulations related to crew training, licensing, and compliance.
Work Experience Requirements:
All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Yacht or a Cruise Ship.
Language Requirements:
Good knowledge of the English language is required.
Certificates and Qualifications:
All applicants must hold a valid ENG1 certificate to be able to apply for this position.
A valid STCW Basic Safety Training certificate is required from all applicants. Please sign up for an STCW course and obtain the certificate if you don't have it yet.
