Live-In Housekeeper – London

Silver Swan is currently seeking an experienced, professional, and discreet Live-in Housekeeper to care for and maintain a 10,000 sq. ft. residence in London. The Principal is in residence approximately 3 months per year; during the remaining time, the successful candidate will be responsible for upkeep, deep cleaning, and overseeing contractors to ensure the home is always maintained to the highest standard.

Responsibilities:

• Daily housekeeping and upkeep of a 10k sq. ft. property (4-5 bedrooms).
• Clean and care for a variety of luxury materials and finishes, including carpets, marble, antique furniture, and fine art.
• Polish and maintain silverware, cutlery, fine glassware, and other delicate items.
• Ensure the home is always presentable, polished, and ready for use.
• Occasional light laundry duties when the family is in residence.
• Work proactively, spotting and addressing areas that need attention without supervision.
• Coordinate and oversee contractors and service providers when required.
• Maintain the highest standards of discretion, professionalism, and trustworthiness.

Ideal Candidate:

• Must have the right to live and work in the UK.
• Minimum 3–5 years in a similar role within private households.
• Strong expertise in cleaning techniques for high-end materials and surfaces.
• Reliable, serious, and committed to long-term employment.
• Discreet, trustworthy, and respectful of privacy at all times.
• Highly detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of taking initiative independently.

Package:

• Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 gross annually.
• Accommodation provided.
• Permanent, live-in role
• 28 days annual leave plus UK Bank Holidays
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm or 9am–5pm
• Weekend work only when the family is in residence (time off given in lieu)
• Start Date: ASAP
