Expedition/Research Vessel is currently seeking a deckhand for employment commencing February 2014.

Required licence STCW II/4 minimum. Valid STCW BST, Security Awareness, ENG1, B1/B2 & C1D visas. Advanced fire fighting a plus.

Deck Ratings are responsible for cleaning and maintaining the exterior and technical spaces of the vessel to 'yacht like' standards as directed by the Deck Officers.The Deck Ratings will fulfill all duties and tasks delegated to him by the Captain, Deck Officers or Chief Engineer. These duties and tasks will include bridge lookout, harbor watches, anchor watches, standard yacht operations (including guest services), administrative work (chart corrections when directed), safety management, physical labor in cleaning, prepping, painting, repairing, and maintaining exterior surfaces and vessel assets.
The Deck Rating is to always be neat and in the correct uniform - worn correctly- and ensure that proper routines and disciplines as described within the Ship's Policies and Masters Standing Orders are followed.

Rotation 3 months on / 1 month off, 12 month $pay.

Salary within industry standards per experience. Package includes paid vacation, medical, flights to/from vessel.

Work Experience Requirements:

All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Yacht and a Cruise Ship.

Language Requirements:

Good knowledge of the English language is required.

Certificates and Qualifications:

All applicants must hold a valid ENG1 certificate to be able to apply for this position.

A valid STCW Basic Safety Training certificate is required from all applicants. Please sign up for an STCW course and obtain the certificate if you don't have it yet.
