STCW Personal Survival Techniques Update – 1 day
The 2010 Manila amendments to the STCW convention require the holders of Basic Safety Training certificates to to undertake refresher training in personal survival techniques every five years.
This is a practical training course to update you in sea survival techniques, including an exercise in the swimming pool where you recap how to launch a life raft.
From 1 January 2017 Basic Safety Training certificates that are more than five years old will be invalid unless supported by a Personal Survival Techniques Update and a Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting Update.
When to update?
Although you don't need to update until the end of 2016, we say don't leave it until the last minute.
These courses will be very heavily booked as the deadline approaches.
