This STCW course qualifies seafarers to take charge of survival craft and rescue boats during emergency situations, including lifeboats, rescue boats, and life rafts. It is a mandatory certification for crew assigned to muster stations and vital for those progressing toward OOW Unlimited and marine engineering pathways.

Course Content:

• Launching & Handling Lifeboats
  Operate davits, engines, steering, and release mechanisms for lifeboats and rescue boats.
• Command in Emergency Scenarios
  Lead evacuation drills, casualty management, and survival group coordination.
• Rescue Systems & Communications
  Use EPIRBs, SARTs, VHF radios, signalling mirrors, and searchlights.
• Post-Abandonment Leadership
  Organise medical care, rations, morale, and survival strategies.
• Boat Recovery & Seamanship
  Conduct craft recovery and seamanship tasks in challenging sea conditions.

Training is delivered at our MCA-approved training centre in Phuket.

Minimum age: 18 years

Valid STCW Personal Survival Techniques (A-VI/1-1) certificate
   – Must be issued by an IMO White List maritime authority
   – If expired: PST Refresher (Updating) Course required before enrolment
