Course Overview:

Under the new STCW 2010 requirements for training and certification, updated (refresher) proficiency training is required to be undertaken in fire prevention and firefighting, every five years. This is a practical one day firefighting course involving use of breathing apparatus, hoses, nozzles and extinguishers.

This MCA approved STCW’95 Fire Prevention & Firefighting Refresher course includes all training aids, equipment and hand-outs.

Course Details:

This course is held at a training facility in Grangetown near Middlesbrough. The purpose built firefighting training centre includes modern, fully equipped training rooms and simulated ship environments for practical applications. There is an on-site canteen and ample car parking.

Prerequisites:

Seafarers who have a certificate of proficiency in Fire Prevention & Firefighting. Please note – certificates of proficiency issued under the authority of other administrations will be acceptable.

or

Seafarers who have six months or more sea service prior to 1st August 1998 and were exempt from basic safety courses.

An STCW'95 approved certificate (MCA) will be issued upon successful completion of the course.
